During quarantine I’ve picked up a few pair of sneakers, so I thought that I would make a post documenting them.
The first is the Nike Cortez Kenny IV:
I decided to pick up this pair because when quarantine first started I started listening back to a lot of Kendrick’s discography. A few weeks before I bought this pair I was at Nordstrom Rack and saw a pair of Lakers colored Nike Cortez that I thought looked really good, this pair made me to to this silhouette. Then while I listened to Kendrick’s music basically non-stop I started contemplating getting one of his Nike collab sneakers. This pair jumped out to me because it’s bright and simple, which makes it a really good summer shoe. Unfortunately I haven’t gotten a lot of use out of them because we’ve been stuck at home, but i’m definitely going to wear them a lot once I return to school.
The second is the Jordan V Fire Red:
When I first heard that these sneakers were re-releasing I knew that I needed to have a pair. The Jordan 5 is my all time favorite Jordan, because of its complex and bulky silhouette as well as the new technology it introduced to the jordan line (translucent soles and reflective tongue), and it’s exciting to have it in its original color way. This pair was released on the anniversary of Michael Jordan’s 69 point game which creates a pretty epic throwback to when he dominated the NBA in this same sneaker. It’s now one of my 3 pairs of Jordan 5’s and It’s really nice to have a new pair that is very clean compared to other well worn pairs, one of which is from 2013 and the other has been worn in all imaginable weather/terrain. This pair is definitely one of my favorite sneakers in my collection.
The third is the Chris Paul Jordan 13:
Although I can’t say that I’m a huge Chris Paul I’ve been contemplating getting a pair of these shoes for a while. I have always been intrigued by the intricate silhouette that is the Jordan 13, but was disappointed by how simplistic and expensive most of the color-ways are. Last winter I was at Round 2 in New York and saw a pair of these used in my size. I was instantly a fan of this shoe because of the rich colors and textured material on the side , but the specific pair I saw was pretty expensive and fairly well used. Ever i first saw them this shoe has been in the back of my mind and a few days ago I saw a pair listed on StockX brand new at a reasonable price, so I decided to finally get them.
